Ranging from $500-$5000, the Honor Society provides scholarships for transfer students every year. They do this to promote the leadership and participation of transfer students in universities across the country.

  1. Pearson Scholarship for Higher Education

The first criterion for this $ 5,000 scholarship is that you are a member of Phi Theta Kappa. If you don’t know what that is, it is a community that helps college students transfer from community colleges into universities. You also have to have a 3.5 GPA minimum and 12-36 semester hours.   1. Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship

Just like the Pearson Scholarship, you have to have a 3.5 GPA minimum. This scholarship helps students transfer from community colleges to four-year degrees running universities smoothly. The amount, however, varies.

This scholarship works differently than the above, it is given simply based on academic strides. Lebanon Valley College offers the most outstanding students a pretty fat cheque, as in $24,000 fat! An annual scholarship of $12000-$16000 is offered by Hiram College, Ohio. These awards may be renewed for up to three years, and that’s more than half of your college stay. Preferences are given to students who have academic achievements. Members of Phi Theta Kappa may also be considered.

You are automatically considered for this scholarship upon application for admission. With a minimum of 3.0 GPA and at least 24 transferable credits, you can easily bag this scholarship. This scholarship is worth $18000-$24000.

This one might be a little tough to jump on as you’ll need a minimum GPA of 3.5 and 45 transferable credits. But it is a $6000 scholarship and is renewable for three years so I dare say it’s worth it!

  1. Niagara University Transfer Scholarship

Applying for this one can save you money. It is worth $8000-$15000 and can be renewed for up to three years. All you need as a transfer student is a minimum GPA of 2.5 and to apply. Upon application as a transfer student, you are instantly considered for this scholarship.

  1. Northwood University Transfer Scholarship

This one is worth $4000-$9000. You’ll need a minimum GPA of 2.7 to be considered. Northwood offers a variety of scholarship options for transfer students, so you have a few options available for you. Each of these scholarships can be renewed but keep in mind that not all eligible students get in as limited funds remain a problem for schools.

  1. Johnson & Wales University Transfer Scholarship

This scholarship can give you $10000 every year did tuition for four years! When going through the admission process, be sure to be extra careful with your transcripts as it is what will make you eligible.

The first thing you need to know is that this is open for non-residents of Kentucky. With a minimum GPA of 3.0 and at least 24 transferable credits, this $4000 scholarship could be yours. You are considered upon admission application.

This one is pretty competitive. You’ll need a minimum GPA of 4.0, 40 transferable credits of an Associate’s degree, two letters of recommendation, and a mind-blowing essay. But the school pays 50% of your tuition and fees.

  1. Loyola University Chicago Transfer Merit Scholarship

Excellent academic performance is the way to lock this one! All you have to do is apply; when you do (and based on your academic performance) you can be considered and awarded this $19000 scholarship.

This one could be full or partial, you could visit the scholarship’s website for more information. You need a minimum GPA of 3.5 and an Associate’s degree from any Maryland community college.

  1. Award for Excellence Transfer Scholarship – Grand Valley State University

To be considered for this scholarship, you must have studied at any community college in Michigan and you need a minimum GPA of 2.5. You will be automatically considered upon your admissions application and if awarded, you can renew it for two years. It is worth $2000.

Some universities are open to receiving transfer students, and some like those above offer scholarships to them but to be sure your dream school has a transfer student scholarship program available, visit the school’s website.

Of course, these are not all the scholarships available. There are tons of scholarships for transfer students; some are easier to get than others but available all the same. More than a good GPA and transferable credits, you’ll need a strong heart too, to handle rejections if they come.
