About the FSB Scholarship: The Federal Scholarship Board (FSB), under the Federal Ministry of Education of Nigeria, is currently awarding Bilateral Educational Agreement (BEA) Scholarship Awards for Undergraduate, Master, and PhD students studying abroad. It is a merit-based scholarship that pays tuition, living expenses, and other benefits for selected students who satisfy the eligibility requirements and pass the qualifying exams.ScholarshipBoard

FSB Scholarship Value and Inclusions

The participating countries are responsible for tuition and lodging, while the Nigerian government covers:

• Supplements
• Warm clothing
• Health insurance
• Research grants (where available)
• Take-off.

Target Group: The scholarship is awarded to Nigerian students who are studying in Nigerian universities.

Eligibility for the FSB Scholarship

For the Undergraduate Scholarships:

All applicants for undergraduate degree courses must possess a minimum qualification of Seven (7) Distinctions (As & Bs) in the Senior Secondary School Certificates, WASSCE/WAEC (May/June) only in the subjects relevant to their fields of study including English Language and Mathematics. Certificates should not be more than two (2) years old (2022 & 2023) for Non-African Countries and African countries the age of the certificate is one year (2023) only. For the Postgraduate Scholarships:

All applicants for Postgraduate degree courses must hold a First Degree with 1st Class or at least 2nd Class Upper Division. All applicants must have finished the N.Y.S.C. program, and the age limit is 35 for Masters and 40 for Ph.D.

• Only N.Y.S.C. discharge or exemption certificates are acceptable.
• Evidence of preparedness for release by an employer.

Follow these simple steps to be able to apply for the scholarship:

• Visit the Federal Government Scholarship Award portal at www.education.gov.ng.
• Obtain the application form from the Federal Government Scholarship Portal.
• Access the Scholarship form publication on the internet.
• To register and apply for the Scholarship exercise, please follow the guidelines provided.
• After you’ve completed the application, print your Scholarship Registration Slip.
  Wait for feedback from the appropriate authorities.

General Notes:

• Since the BEA countries are non-English speaking, applicants should be prepared to undertake a mandatory one-year foreign Language course of the Country of choice which will be the standard medium of instruction;
• All applicants for the Hungarian Scholarship can apply for up to two fields of study in order of preference and must visit the website:  www.stipendiumhungaricum.hu
• Complete the application form online,
• All applicants for Russia should visit the website http://education-in-russia.com which is open.
• All applicants for Russian Postgraduate Scholarship must have acquired their 1st Degree in Russia
• All documents are to be uploaded on the Russian  Application portal and must be properly scanned in PDF format.
• All Applicants are to upload the following certificates online:
  • UNDERGRADUATE: WAEC/WASSCE & NIN Slip
  • POSTGRADUATE: 1st Degree Certificate, NIN Slip & NYSC discharge or exemption Certificate.

Required Documents:

1. Authenticated copies of academic certificates;
2. Data page of the current International passport;
3. Specified Medical Reports from Government hospitals;
4. Birth Certificate & Indigene letter
5. Police Clearance Certificate where necessary.
