  • The CSC actively funds the approved airfare for the Scholar to travel from their home country to the UK and return at the end of the award. However, the CSC does not reimburse the cost of fares for dependants, nor the cost of journeys made before the award is confirmed.
  • Additionally, the CSC and the UK university have an agreement in place whereby they jointly and fully cover the approved tuition fees. As a result, the scholars are not liable to pay for any part of the tuition fee.
  • Furthermore, the university proactively pays and the CSC funds the stipend (living allowance) at the current rate of £1,347 per month, or £1,652 per month for those studying at universities in the London metropolitan area.
  • Moreover, the university pays and the CSC funds the warm clothing allowance, where applicable.
  • Also, the university pays the thesis grant to help cover the cost of preparing a thesis or dissertation, as funded by the CSC.
  • Likewise, the university pays the study travel grant to contribute towards study-related travel costs within the UK or overseas, as funded by the CSC.
  • In addition, the university pays and the CSC funds the contribution towards the mandatory tuberculosis (TB) test cost, where required for a visa application. However, scholars must supply receipts for reimbursement.
  • Finally, if a Scholar has children and is widowed, divorced, or a single parent, the CSC actively provides a child allowance of £576.61 per month for the first child, and £143 per month for the second and third child under 16 years old if they live with the Scholar at the same UK address.
