About the KNB Scholarship: The Indonesian Government KNB Scholarships 2023–2024 are fully paid scholarships for international students. Kemitraan Negara Berkembang scholarships are offered for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies.

The KNB (Kemitraan Negara Berkembang) Scholarship is a financial aid programme administered by the Indonesian government for overseas students from underdeveloped countries pursuing master’s degrees at Indonesian universities. KNB Scholarship Values and Inclusions

The following advantages are available to recipients of Indonesian Government KNB Scholarships:

• New students will be paid a settlement allowance of IDR 1,250,000 upon their arrival in Indonesia.KNB Scholarship For International Students 2023 Application – How To Apply
• The new students would only receive a monthly living allowance of IDR 2,550,000 while enrolled in the Indonesian language course and preparatory programs.
• During the Master Programme, KNB students will get the following monthly allowance scheme:
  • IDR 2.550,000 as a living allowance
  • IDR 400,000 for research allowance
  • IDR 350,000 for books allowance
• Health insurance with a monthly premium of no more than IDR 200,000 (in the event that the cost of medical services exceeds those covered by the health insurance, the difference must be reimbursed by the student);
• A round-trip international flight (economy class) from the student’s home country to Indonesia, including local transportation

Eligibility for the KNB Scholarship

REQUIREMENTS FOR DOCTORATE DEGREE SCHOLARSHIP

• The scholarship is open to people over the age of 40.
• Have a master’s degree (please send a scanned copy of your degree certificate as well as academic transcripts in English). Please be aware that applicants with a Doctorate degree are not eligible.
• Obtain a recommendation letter from a possible research supervisor at one of the universities that is a KNB scholarship partner.
• Provide a statement of intent that at the very least indicates the objective of their studies, the basis of their interest in studying in Indonesia and pursuing their selected research topic, and their academic future plans (dissertation proposal).
• Have a TOEFL or IELTS (or other recognized English Proficiency Test) score of 90 TOEFL IBT or 7.0 IELTS (the certificate must have been received within the last two years).
• Submit a recommendation letter from the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate General in order to apply for the KNB scholarship.
• Include a letter of recommendation from your employer or direct supervisor for the KNB Scholarship application.
• Provide proof of citizenship (official passport or personal identification).
• Include a recommendation letter from a prior university.
• Fill out the online application at http://knb.kemdikbud.go.id.

REQUIREMENTS FOR UNDERGRADUATE

• The maximum age is 25 years old.
• Have a high school diploma (please supply a scanned copy of your diploma and academic transcripts in English). Please be aware that master’s degree holders are ineligible to apply for the Master’s Degree scholarship.
• To apply for the KNB scholarship, submit a recommendation letter from the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate General.
• To apply for the KNB scholarship, provide a recommendation letter from your employer/immediate supervisor.
• Provide a letter of recommendation from your prior schools.
• Proof of citizenship (official passport or personal identification).
• Fill out the online application form.

REQUIREMENTS FOR MASTERS

• The maximum age is 35 years.
• Possess a bachelor’s degree (please send a scanned copy of your degree certificate as well as academic transcripts in English). Please be aware that master’s degree holders are ineligible to apply for the scholarship.
• Have an IBT TOEFL score of 80, an IELTS score of 6.0, or a TOEIC score of 700 (the certificate must be earned within the last two years).
• To apply for the KNB scholarship, submit a recommendation letter from the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate General.
• To apply for the KNB scholarship, provide a recommendation letter from your employer or immediate supervisor.
• Provide a letter of recommendation from your prior schools.
• Proof of citizenship (official passport or personal identification)
• Fill out the online application form.

Required Documents 

• A letter of recommendation from the Indonesian Embassy in the respective nation
• Nomination letter from a government official (Ministry of Education, other related Government agency, if the applicant works for the Government Agency or Embassy of the Applicant’s Country of Origin in Indonesia);
• 2 letters of academic recommendation;
• Scanned passport (just the personal data page) or birth certificate;
• Bachelor’s diploma and academic transcripts (in English) scanned
• TOEFL score certificate (or equivalent English Proficiency Tests) achieved within the last two years, scanned;
• Official Medical Statement (Official diagnosis) scanned by a recognized physician

KNB Scholarship Step-by-Step Application Guide

• Download the Invitation Letter (Available on the KNB Scholarship website);
• Submit the Invitation letter, Passport, Academic Certificates, and Academic Transcripts to the Indonesian Embassy to acquire the recommendation letter.
• Complete the online application process;
• Selection process;
• The selection results will be announced online via the KNB Scholarship Website and officially announced through the Indonesian Embassy publication network.

Deadline

• The online application process must be completed no later than February 18, 2023.
• The selection result will be announced in the first week of June 2023.
• The confirmation deadline is July 23, 2023.
• The new KNB awardees are expected to arrive in Jakarta on the second week of July 2023.
