Eligibility For The Swedish Institute Scholarship

The applicants for the scholarship must meet the following criteria:

  • You must be a citizen of a nation that is eligible for the scholarship program. This often covers countries outside of the European Union (EU)/European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland.
  • You should have applied for a master’s program at a Swedish university. The master’s program must be qualified for SI scholarship consideration.
  • You must be responsible for paying tuition fees to Swedish institutions, have applied before the university admission deadline, and be rated among the first priority by the university’s selection procedure.
  • Applicants are normally required to demonstrate job experience. This could be full-time, part-time, voluntary, or unpaid labor, but the total should be equivalent to a specified number of years of full-time employment (the particular criterion can vary).
  • The SI scholarship seeks to help individuals who have demonstrated leadership potential. This could be achieved through leadership responsibilities in the workplace, volunteer work, or other relevant experiences.
  • You must not have won an SI scholarship for a master’s level program or two or more SI scholarships for courses at the Swedish Institute Summer Academy for Global Professionals.
  • You must not have already lived in Sweden for two years or longer when the scholarship period begins.
  • You should not hold a Swedish or EU/EEA master’s degree equivalent to 240 Swedish university credits.
  • Candidates should be committed to returning to their home countries after their studies to apply their new knowledge and abilities.
  • If you have dual citizenship, one of which is from a country in the EU/EEA or Switzerland, you are ineligible.
  • You must meet the entry requirements for the master’s program you applied for, which normally include English language skills. Most colleges need an English language test, such as IELTS or TOEFL.

Swedish Institute Scholarship Step-by-Step Application Guide

  1. Apply for up to four eligible master’s programs at universityadmissions.se. Note that Stockholm School of Economics has its own, separate intake and admissions process.
  2. Once you have submitted your application for the master’s program (s) at universityadmissions.se, you will get a personal application number consisting of eight digits. Save the number as you will need it when applying to the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals. Your application will be disqualified if you type in the wrong number in the online application form. Applicants for the Stockholm School of Economics will not receive such a number.
  3. Submit your receipt of the application fee and the supporting documents required by University Admissions before the deadline. The fee is non-refundable.

After the application, applicants should endeavor to check the official website for information about when the screening will take place.
