Knight Hennessy Scholarship Value and Inclusions
The scholarship offers certain benefits to successful applicants and they are as follows:
- Successful applicants/scholars will receive a grant of up to three years from admission and selection.
- Stipend to help cover tuition and associated fees
- A living and education stipend will be paid which will cover the following:
- Room and board
- Books
- Academic supplies
- Instructional material
- Local transport costs
- Reasonable personal expenses.
- They will also get an economy-class return ticket to and from Stanford annually.
- A one-time relocation stipend
Other additional funding which are specific to years:
- Successful applicants will get supplementary grants which will be provided to enrich educational insight through conferences and travel.
- If the scholars choose summer research projects as additional learning, they will be given a special summer grant for the course.

Eligibility for the Knight Hennessy Scholarship
The eligibility requirements for the scholarship program include two baseline requirements. They are as follows:
First, in addition to applying to Knight-Hennessy Scholars (KHS), you must apply to, be accepted by, and enroll in a full-time Stanford graduate degree program including, but not limited to, DMA, JD, MA, MBA, MD, MFA, MPP, MS, or PhD programs. You must meet at least one of the following four conditions:
- You are applying separately but concurrently to KHS and a full-time Stanford graduate degree program such that you will start both in the same year.
- You have already been offered and deferred admission to a full-time Stanford graduate degree program and will apply to KHS such that you will start both in the same year.
- You are a current Stanford graduate student who will apply to add a second full-time Stanford graduate degree program, such that you will start both KHS and the new program in the same year.
- You are a current Stanford PhD student in your first year of enrollment and will apply to KHS such that you will start KHS in your second year of PhD enrollment.

Requirement 2: Undergraduate Degree Date
Second, in January 2017 or later, you must have earned a U.S. bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a college or university of recognized standing.

Knight Hennessy Scholarship Step-by-Step Application Guide
- Applicants will have to apply separately for the Knight Hennessey scholarship and for the Stanford University graduate degree program.
- When filling out the scholarship form, the applicant will have to indicate the Stanford degree program which he/she is applying for.
- The scholarship application will be submitted online.
- The preferred language for the submission of the application material must be English and it is done online.
