How do I check my WAEC results online just with my phone?
The West African Examinations Council is the body responsible for the conduct of The West African Secondary School Certificate Examinations and General Certificate of Education; WASSCE and GCE respectively.
Unlike before when the WAEC results last months before they are released, the board in a joint agreement with JAMB has concluded on the release of the results at least 60 days from the exams end. Which means the results for your WAEC results are supposed to be released within two to three months from the day the entire exams end. However, changes can be made in cases of unforeseen circumstances.
WASSCE and GCE exams are written by the following member countries:
Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Gambia and Sierra Leone.
The details you would need to check your results is also the same in the above countries. They include:
- WAEC Examination Number and year
- Type of WAEC Examination: WASSCE or GCE
- WAEC Scratch Card Serial Number and Pin
For the scratch card, you can obtain one with any authorized dealer in a Cyber Café, Exam center or the Exams Office in your locality.
The steps are as follows:
- Visit the WAEC result checker portal here https://www.waecdirect.org/
- Log in to your portal using your registration number and password.
- Select your exam type (WASSCE or GCE) also the month range of your exam- (WAEC MAY/JUNE – NOV/DEC)
- Input the year of your exam.
- Scratch your card, note down your serial number, pin and exam center number in the provisions given.
- Click on the submit button.
If your results are ready, it would be displayed. If not, you may have to give it a little more time.
An option would be displayed on your portal to enable you to download a PDF format of your results.
To prevent your result from getting missing, and for easy recovery, you can save it in your mailbox. How do you do this? You might be wondering.
Just as there is a download option on the same page where your results were displayed, there is a provision made for you to send your results to your email. Tick that option and your request would be processed.
Although this feature may not be available for all exam years, you can scan the result and attach it to your mail as well.
