About the KU Leuven PhD Scholarship: KU Leuven, a famous university in Belgium, offers a variety of PhD scholarship possibilities to both national and international candidates. These grants are designed to help doctoral students conduct research leading to a Ph.D. degree.
Every academic year, as part of its contribution to development cooperation, KU Leuven selects excellent students from poor countries as scholarship candidates to receive their PhD from Belgium’s largest university. IRO, the university’s Interfaculty Council for Development Cooperation, oversees the Global Minds Programme.ScholarshipBoard
The goal is to provide students with the chance to perform PhD research in a sandwich system, in which 50% of the research is conducted at KU Leuven and 50% at the scholar’s home institution, with the support of a local co-promoter. KU Leuven bestows the PhD degree.
